Canvas has long been a favourite for photographers and art lovers because it bridges the world of painting and photography. Printed directly onto a fine-textured cotton canvas, the result is a matte, painterly surface that softens detail slightly but enhances the overall mood. The absence of reflective gloss makes canvas easy to enjoy in rooms with windows or overhead lights.
Canvas is perfect for creating an "artsy" feel. If you're someone who loves paintings, brushstrokes, and that sense of classic artistry, canvas will resonate with you. It transforms a photograph into something that feels closer to a painting, giving it warmth and presence. Large-scale canvases can dominate a wall without overwhelming it, thanks to their soft finish.
Framing: By default, canvas prints are stretched over a wooden frame and displayed as-is. However, many collectors enjoy adding a "floating frame," which surrounds the canvas with a subtle border, giving it a refined, gallery-quality finish. This is optional and entirely a matter of personal taste.
Ideal spaces: Living rooms, bedrooms, or any environment where comfort and warmth are valued.
Pros: Affordable, lightweight, versatile, no glare, painterly and artsy feel.
Cons: Less micro-detail than paper or metallic prints, not the best choice if you want ultra-sharp fidelity.

Fine art paper is the traditional standard for serious collectors. Printed on museum-grade, archival papers, these prints offer exquisite tonal range, crisp detail, and subtle textures that can't be replicated on canvas. They are tactile, elegant, and designed to last for generations without fading when properly framed.
The variety of fine art papers available allows for flexibility. Matte papers give a soft, timeless look, while baryta and cotton rag papers provide deep blacks and luminous highlights. The texture of the paper adds dimension and character, making each print a work of art in its own right.
Fine art paper prints appeal to those who value tradition, craftsmanship, and longevity. They carry a sense of permanence and seriousness that makes them at home in classic interiors, galleries, and personal collections.
Framing: Required. Because paper is delicate, these prints must be framed behind glass or acrylic to protect them from dust, handling, and environmental factors. Framing also provides an opportunity to match the print to your décor style, whether that's modern minimalism or ornate tradition.
Ideal spaces: Libraries, offices, galleries, and collector's homes.
Pros: Exceptional detail and tonal range, archival quality, traditional and collectible.
Cons: Requires framing and protection, more delicate than canvas or mounted prints.

Metallic prints are a special type of fine art paper print with a striking, high-gloss metallic finish. Printed on 100% cotton paper, they introduce a reflective sheen that makes highlights shimmer and gives depth to shadows. The effect is dramatic, often described as three-dimensional or luminous. Metallic prints excel with certain types of photography: night skies, cityscapes, seascapes, or high-contrast scenes with strong highlights. The metallic surface amplifies the drama, creating a bold, modern statement. They can transform an ordinary room into one with energy and presence.
While they share the archival qualities of fine art paper, metallic prints stand out for their unique look. They are less about subtlety and more about impact, making them a perfect fit for people who want artwork that catches the eye and sparks conversation.
Framing: Required. Like fine art paper prints, metallic prints must be framed behind glass or acrylic. The frame you choose can temper the boldness - sleek black frames for modern minimalism, or ornate frames to balance the shimmer with tradition.
Ideal spaces: Modern interiors, offices, high-energy spaces, or anywhere you want drama and brilliance.
Pros: Unique glossy depth, vibrant and bold, excellent for dramatic images.
Cons: Requires framing, sheen may not suit all décor styles.

Acrylic mounting is the choice of galleries and collectors who want maximum impact. In this process, a fine art or metallic print is face-mounted behind a clear sheet of acrylic glass. The acrylic enhances colors, adds luminous depth, and makes details leap from the surface. It transforms the print into a modern, luxurious showpiece.
Acrylic-mounted prints are striking, but they are also heavier and more expensive than traditional framing. They require careful handling to avoid scratches or reflections. In the right setting, however, the effect is breathtaking - a photograph becomes almost sculptural, with light playing across its surface in ways that draw viewers in.
Framing: Always required. Acrylic is a face-mounting process that must be finished with a supporting frame for stability and display.
Ideal spaces: Galleries, modern homes, corporate environments, luxury interiors.
Pros: Exceptional brilliance and depth, gallery-quality look, strong protective layer.
Cons: Heavier, more costly, always requires framing, and reflective under strong light.

For a minimalist, ready-to-hang option, Dibond is ideal. In this method, the fine art or metallic print is mounted directly onto a rigid aluminum composite panel. The result is slim, lightweight yet durable, and completely frameless. The artwork floats on the wall, clean and unobstructed.
Dibond is particularly suited to modern spaces where simplicity and straight lines dominate. It's durable enough for larger sizes, and resistant to warping. It provides a professional, gallery-style presentation without the need for framing.
Framing: Not required. Dibond-mounted prints are ready to hang as they are.
Ideal spaces: Modern homes, offices, minimalist interiors, professional exhibitions.
Pros: Sleek and frameless, durable, lightweight, contemporary look.
Cons: May feel too minimal for traditional settings, lacks the refinement of custom framing.

There are important consideration to take into account when you un-package one of my art prints. These type of prints need to be handled carefully. Especially if they are fairly large. In my opinion, its best to take it to your framer right away and have them un-package it and unroll it. They know about the proper handling of artwork.
If you decide to un-package your art print on your own here are some very important handling instructions. First, you need to have a large enough flat table or area to handle unrolling the art print. The print itself is rolled up in a paper sleeve and packed into the hard cardboard shipping tube. When you pull the rolled print out of the tube, the print will have a “roll memory” to it, and it is important you unroll it properly or you may damage or kink your art. The paper is fairly thick, heavy and durable.
Be sure to lay the roll on the flat area and un-tape the end of the paper roll. Unroll it slightly until you see the art. At this point, you need to weigh down the first visible part of the print on the corners so the corners will stay flat on the table. Two or three heavy hardbound books are perfect for this. Once the corners are weighed down you can gentle unroll the rest of the print to reveal & inspect your beautiful art print? Do not let go as it may snap roll back onto itself and possibly cause damage. I trust you will be overjoyed with your decision to purchase. Now gently roll the print back up in a small enough diameter to fit back into the tube so you can take it to your framer.

We recommend taking your time to select the perfect print for your space - or feel free to ask us for advice if you would like a second opinion! Similarly, please ensure you measure up carefully. A great trick is to cut a sheet of paper to the exact size of print that you're considering and blue-tack it to the wall. This will give you a really good sense of how the print will look in your space. This includes prints cropped to a different size and/or prints with colour modifications as requested.
